The task is called “Criminal Dossier” (in a short period of time it has become, perhaps, the most visited among players). Due to the length of the circle, gaining reputation points (RP) occurs very quickly. You can get points by running circles alone, but more RP is given if there is at least one opponent. By the way, you don’t have to win. Having completed one lap, you get so many points that RP points in prize fund may seem like a small thing. Unfortunately, you cannot score points for each lap by setting them to 99. Around level 50, the maximum points will be earned by a race of 3-4 laps. Closer to the 80th number of laps you need to set it to 3, and then even less - 2. The fact is that more and more often the limiter will be triggered, which sets a limit on the set of RP points in one task. For the first round you are given about 3000 points, for the second - about 1000. With desire and the proper perseverance, you can reach a really high level quite quickly.

Start

First of all, you must decide what kind of competition you want to create. Will it be a race by land, sea or air, a cross-country ride on two wheels, a coast-to-coast race in classic sports cars, a city cruise in fighter jets, or something completely different? Once you decide on the type of race, you will give your creation a form, and then you can work on the content.

The Race Options menu allows you to customize a number of settings, including available vehicles, time of day, number of laps, and weather conditions. Don't worry, all of these details can be changed later if you change your mind or discover any flaws during testing.

First, place the starting grid.

Your first step in creating a race is to place your trigger. This is the location that Free Roam players wishing to participate in your race must visit, as well as the approximate location of the starting grid. If you are far from the point where you would like to start the race, simply press the Start button and select the desired location on the map to instantly move there. You can also take a photo that will be displayed as the background of the lobby where players wait for the race to begin.

Next, you need to place control points that determine the race route. Use the left stick (left stick) to move around the game world, the right stick (right stick) to pan the camera, and use the L2 (left trigger) and R2 (right trigger) buttons to zoom. Take your time to study the map carefully and decide what terrain is best to navigate based on the parameters you set in the Race Options menu (but keep in mind that these can be changed at any time).

If you want to insert a new one control point between two existing ones, make sure the new point touches the blue line connecting the other two, otherwise it will be placed at the end of the route. If the blue line changes color to yellow, this means that the control point will be placed between the other two.

If you have selected "Laps" as the Course Type in the Race Options menu, keep in mind that your course must be a loop. If you selected “Point to Point”, then the last checkpoint will automatically turn into the finish line. Please note that the race, regardless of race type, must be at least 0.62 miles in length and at least one test must be completed before posting (though we recommend testing the race several times to ensure there are no errors).

Ideal placement

You have the opportunity to add game world, placing objects, weapons and boosters on the track. This allows you to make your creation unique, so don't neglect this feature!

If you want to arrange a GTA race, you can place weapons, first aid kits and boosters on the track. These are all located in the Deployment > Weapons menu, and objects can be found in the Deployment > Objects menu. By skillfully placing objects, you can block the passage across the bridge, build a springboard to make the competition spectacular in Vinewood style, or come up with something else - it all depends on your imagination. You can also place a stunt jump so that a specific camera angle is used when using a certain springboard. To do this, you need to place two markers: one at the end of the springboard from which the players will jump, and another one in the place where the camera will be located. Use the analog sticks to change the camera's height.

Land, water or air?

Creating races on land and races on water is the same, with the only difference being that in one, checkpoints can only be placed on land, and in the other, only on water. Also keep in mind that some objects can only be placed on certain surfaces: buoys and water ramps, for example, are designed exclusively for water competitions.

When creating air races, you also need to set the height of each control point. To raise the point, use the left joystick, and to lower it, use the right one.

One, two, three, check

As with everything in game development, it takes a lot of testing and polish to create something truly special. You can select “Test” at any time and ride along the track (all changes made will be saved). If you see something you don't like, you can return to the editor by pressing the down directional button ("down" on the D-pad) and redo the selected element - or even the entire race. You can also switch to the game view by pressing the Select (Back) button and place checkpoints and objects while driving around the track in your chosen vehicle. This method not only allows you to place control points on the fly, but also helps you place objects in places that the editor cursor cannot reach, such as in tunnels.

When testing a race, it is important to check that all spawn points are working, especially if there is an obstacle or large structure near them.

From scratch

This can happen to anyone: suddenly it turns out that the track leads to nowhere, and the jumble of checkpoints looks even more pathetic than Trevor’s hair. If you suddenly want to start over, you can delete all (or all) checkpoints using the Placement > Removal Settings menu (you can also delete all weapons, all objects, all dynamic objects, and all stunt jumps).

  • Always make sure the next checkpoint is easy to see. The winner of your race should be determined by skill, not chance.
  • On sharp turns, place a control point before the apex. Then the player will be able to slow down in time and maintain the optimal trajectory.
  • A well-placed checkpoint will warn the player of an approaching turn much more effectively than, say, a pile of broken down buses.
  • Using the description, you can tell players how best to complete your race. If, for example, you use a large number of objects to create barricades and testing has shown that this race is better played with traffic turned off, let players know about this.
  • Make sure that weapons and first aid kits are located at a sufficient distance from each other so that one player cannot pick up both at once. The leader should not have too obvious an advantage, otherwise your GTA race will be uninteresting to play.
  • Weapons, especially missiles, should not be placed too often: they should be an "ace in the hole" and not a constant irritating element of the competition. Place weapons where players will need them most, such as at the beginning of a long straight section.
  • Remember that all created races can become GTA races, but only if you place weapons on the track. If your racer can be played in both standard and GTA formats, players will be incentivized for repeat runs.
  • Don't overdo the jumps. If there are too many of them or they are in the wrong places, this will disrupt the flow of the race, and your creation will be remembered by the participants in a completely different way than you would like.
  • Boosters should be placed on straight sections of the track and key overtaking areas where they will be most useful.
  • Do not place stunt jumps before turns, otherwise the player may lose sight of his car.
  • Vehicles for a race should always be selected according to the terrain on which the race is taking place. Compact cars are best suited to winding street circuits, while SUVs are designed to handle the slushy roads of Blaine County. If you have a mixed lineup of cars, such as sports cars and SUVs, your race should alternate between different types of terrain so that no one competitor has an advantage. In addition, you can lay out the route in places where participants have the opportunity to choose an alternative route - for example, along mountainous sections where motorcyclists can take a shortcut at the risk of their lives. Balance is the key to success, and the only way to achieve it is through rigorous testing. Complete the race in different types of cars until you understand exactly how much time each type of vehicle needs to get to the finish line.
  • In air racing, force pilots to move either vertically or horizontally to avoid long, monotonous straight-line movements. In addition, airplanes do not have brakes, so if you make a turn that is too sharp, it will be very difficult, if not impossible, to complete your route. When you set up control points, it makes sense to switch to the in-game camera to understand how maneuverable a particular aircraft is.
  • If you want to really test the pilots, place checkpoints in places where the player is in danger of crashing into something. For example, a series of control points located above and below the bridge will weed out those players who do not know how to dive and gain altitude. And if the control point is between two skyscrapers, players will have to pass the buildings by turning the plane sideways.
  • The main thing is more imagination. Experiment and have fun!

How to create a stunt race in GTA Online

In order to get into the stunt racing editor, you need to pause the game, and then find the “Content Editor” item in the menu. After a short download, the user will be able to select what type of content they want to create, and in one of the sub-menus there will be a “Stunt Race” option.

The initial stage of creation is similar to how work begins on any other race: names, descriptions, and a title image are determined. The user can also configure the desired type of race, route, available transport, and so on.

Accommodation

After completing the basic stage, you must choose the placement of players, which will determine where the race will start.

Like other options when creating a route, this parameter is controlled in the same way as always. First, install the activator, the camera in the lobby and control points, after which you can move on to the “delicious” part - obstacles and other objects.

Obstacles and objects

Each map created in the racing section of the GTA Online content editor can contain up to 500 objects and obstacles. They became the main “highlight” of the Cunning Stunts add-on, so in this section you can find greatest number innovations.

Let's look at them separately to reveal their main capabilities:

Stunt sections

In fact, these are real “roads in the sky”, because they can be literally built through the air. The editor contains many separate fragments of such stunt sections, thanks to which you can completely forget about the ground route and run the entire race exclusively in the air. There are a lot of options, so you can realize even your wildest fantasies.

Pipes

It is also worth highlighting the pipes, which play the same role, but have a slightly smaller surface for parallel driving of several cars. They have a round cross-section, so if you wish, you can overtake the player by simply driving along the wall. It's dangerous, but not for a real stuntman, right? In addition to fine-tuning the configuration due to the large number components, you can also change the color of the pipes.

Venues

If you really want to give the players some room for maneuver, then you can use platforms hanging in the air. They are available in a wide range of sizes and colors, allowing you to diversify the race and make it even more chic.

Springboards

Depending on the size and angle, the trampolines from the Cunning Stunts add-on allow you to gain an advantage by landing directly on or in front of your opponents' heads. The creator of the race can choose whether passing the jumps is mandatory for each participant, or whether they can go around them and continue along the route without the risk of breaking their necks. The color of the springboard can be edited in the same way as the colors of other objects.

Objects for tricks

To prevent the trip from being too boring, you can use the section of objects that are designed to perform various tricks, both dangerous and very dangerous. The choice here is quite large: various spiral fragments, loops, obstacles, additional types of springboards, and much more.

Road signs

Just like in reality, the signs in the Grand Thefu stunt racing editor Auto Online are intended to inform the player about certain circumstances that await him ahead. With their help, you can notify race participants about turns, advise you to slow down before passing, especially dangerous participant and so on. You can also paint over the signs with the emblems of various racing brands and sponsors, using them for purely decorative purposes.

Special objects

An interesting section of the editor in which the user can place fire rings, pyrotechnic effects, giant tires and other decorative objects. There are also sound alerts that allow you to give the race a special sound, and also make it possible to warn the participants of the race about something. Or just make some noise.

Interestingly, among the special objects there are special accelerators, when passing which the player gains speed faster. In this case, you can, on the contrary, invert their effect, and then players will slow down when they hit them.

Dynamic objects

Additional interactive obstacles can be added to make the race even more exciting. These can be giant bowling balls, skittles, balls and other interesting things. They can add chaos to the competition and also reward players with extra RP for colliding with marked objects.

In addition to new objects, fundamentally new features of the racing editor have also appeared, which allows you to improve not only stunt racing, but also any other.

For example, one of the most interesting features allows you to change the position of objects after interacting with them.

The add-on also increased the limit on additional objects (not obstacles) from 100 to 150, which allows you to place more sound effects and decorations for improvement appearance tracks.

Overwriting objects

As noted above, using this functionality you can dynamically change the position of an object in space when the player interacts with it. You can change coordinates in three dimensions (X, Y, Z).

Binding

So that the creator of the race does not have to worry about the fact that there may be gaps between sections, the developers of Rockstar Games have implemented a convenient snapping system. It is especially convenient when creating a road, as it makes it possible to automatically adjust fragments to each other without any tricks. Snapping also works when placing other objects and blocks.

Placement on top of each other

After the update, the GTA Online racing editor can handle the placement of objects on top of each other. If previously you had to install them only on a plane, now you can make real turrets from certain objects, so that the racers can then effectively knock them over by ramming them with a bumper.

Alternative checkpoints

For a very long time, players have been asking developers to implement the possibility of creating alternative routes to race tracks. And in the Cunning Stunts addon, these requests were heard.

You can now make forks in the editor to give race participants a choice. As a rule, this is a choice between a longer, but safe segment, and a shorter, but life-threatening one.

Circular control points

Since pipes with rounded walls appeared, the developers quite logically decided to add an additional type of control point. When passing them, it does not matter at what angle the car is traveling.

Of course, any stunt race is, first of all, a race, which means the basics remain the same, as when creating any routes. Once you have become familiar with the key principles (using the many tutorials that already exist or on personal experience), you can move on to the features that distinguish racing for reckless drivers and stunts.

So, there are hundreds of new objects available for use. Remember that one track (now) can be no more than 150 objects however, another limitation is overall memory usage. Given that you also have 20 dynamic objects available to you (like giant bowling pins and balls), you can run out of resources long before the number of objects even reaches a hundred.

Therefore it is especially important study the list in advance what you will work with and have at least a general idea of ​​what you want your future track to look like. This applies not only to individual components, but also to the overall color scheme and “purpose” of the route. Before choosing the class of transport for which it is designed, test it on one of the machines this category.

Please note that while Rockstar-created stunt races are Standard by default, you can select mode for your own - it can also be a regular race, GTA, rally or non-contact.


What's new

In addition to a huge set of stunt “props”, new features were added to the editor in the “Cunning Stunts” DLC, which are discussed in order.
Override, Snap, Stack
Three functions usually used in conjunction. When placing an element, you can now specify it exact location(coordinates and rotation angle), and for even more sophisticated work, zoom in on the track (on a PC this is done by pressing LCtrl).

Further, creating long routes is not complete without using the same element several times, not to mention fiddling with connecting objects. This is why we need the second function - coupling of elements. It can work automatically (connecting the closest objects), or be activated manually (on personal computers - through a space) or work “in a chain”, when each next added element is immediately connected to the previous one. It’s already clear from the description how much time can be saved.

And finally, the “ heaps» objects - you can easily stack them on top of each other, even on the uneven expanses of Los Santos, and no one will shout at you if the elements overlap.

Secondary and circular checkpoints
Since tracks can now be split into two parts, a new type of checkpoint has been introduced. Such secondary checkpoints(Secondary Checkpoints) are different colors, and during the race you can choose to go through any of the two.

Circular checkpoints(Circular Checkpoints) are not located on the ground, but are “suspended” in space and resemble those used in air racing or flight school. They are especially useful if you want to place a reference point inside a pipe.

And a couple more useful little things:
  • We have already mentioned fireworks(what holiday would be without them?) – you can set them to fire at certain points in the race;
  • Audio objects publish sounds– you can choose the sound itself and the distance at which it is played when approaching an object.

As if hundreds of objects weren’t enough, each or some of them also have very useful and interesting features:
  • To reuse a certain "configuration" in the future, you can save it in templates(Templates);
  • Nobody limits you on what to do with objects - come up with them unusual application (for example, turn fire rings from dangerous obstacles into spectacular decorations);
  • Of course, you are already accustomed to living large, but in order not to exceed the permissible number of objects, it does not hurt to use one big element instead of several small ones;
  • Ramps can be used not only for jumping, but also for a smooth transition (more precisely, flight) between parts of the track - for example, for jumping onto inclined or vertical sections;
  • Don't forget about acceleration and deceleration– the former can not only make the race more dynamic, but also help in overcoming ground and air obstacles, and the latter can prevent you from flying off the track before a sharp turn or cliff.

How to make the track even better

  • It may be worth first assembling the route completely in its “ approximate form”, without adjusting anything to calculate whether you even have enough elements to complete it;
  • Test, test, test again... The fastest way to do this is by using the Tab key (on a PC);
  • Check that players can go through all checkpoints even after respawning - this can be done manually, right in testing mode;
  • By the way, about checkpoints - don’t forget that their maximum number is limited to 68 pieces (it’s strange that it’s not 69, because Rockstar loves this number so much);
  • If you want to reward participants for crazy jumps and other tricks, turn on the appropriate option in the race settings so that reward the bravest and most skillful bonuses to reputation;
  • Returning to fireworks and sounds - their settings are very flexible, so you can set them to trigger, for example, only for the player in first place (celebratory fireworks) or for the last one on the last lap (warning siren);
  • To make the route more memorable, use creatively environment , existing roads and bridges, buildings and landmarks (this will also help reduce the number of objects);
  • Don't forget that the world of GTA 5 lives without your participation - and objects placed in the water can turn from a safety net into an obstacle when the tide goes out!
