Tatyana asks:

Hello. please answer, I took Novinet for one month, protected myself with condoms for 3 weeks, but after taking 21 tablets of Novinet I had sexual intercourse without a condom, what are the chances of getting pregnant? Do you still need to protect yourself with condoms? I had a medical abortion 2 months ago.

There is no chance of getting pregnant. If you use oral contraceptives correctly and in a timely manner, then you can have sex during the 7-day break.

Tatyana asks:

Is it necessary to take Novinet with water? What about juice, tea, coffee, etc.? Will the effectiveness of the tablets be reduced?

Since there are no special instructions in the instructions for this drug, it must be taken with an intact liquid - water, in order to prevent a decrease in contraceptive activity.

Tatyana asks:

Good afternoon. I have the following question: I have been taking Novinet for the first month, from the first day of the cycle, every day at the same time (as written in the instructions). On the 16th day of taking it I had unprotected sexual intercourse. I finished the pills from the pack until the end and after 3 days I started bleeding. Usually the menstrual flow is very heavy (as they say, “like a bucket”), but here it’s so scanty. I’m very worried. Maybe in the first month of taking the pills I should have taken extra protection??? What is the likelihood of pregnancy with such symptoms? Maybe you shouldn’t continue taking the pills? Thanks in advance for your answer.

There are no reasons to stop taking Novinet. If there is menstrual flow, there is no chance of pregnancy.

Kira asks:

I first started taking Novinet 5 months after giving birth. On the first day everything was as described in the instructions, but on the second day the discharge started and lasted 11 days. I have not yet completed the 21-day course. Should I worry, or should I wait? Advance Thank you!

In this case, it is worth continuing to take the drug until all the blister tablets are finished and contact your gynecologist for a gynecological examination.

Kira asks:

Tell me please! I have been taking Novinet for 1 month for 10 days, maybe more or less. I had unprotected sex with my family and secreted into the “guts.” What is the possibility of getting pregnant? I took the pills at the same time!

Provided you regularly take hormonal contraceptives correctly, this situation will not lead to pregnancy.

Kira asks:

Well, I took it every day at the same time!!! Is it okay that I’ve only been taking them for the first month and not that much?

The full contraceptive effect of the drug occurs on the 14th day of regular use.

Alina asks:

I've been taking Novinet for the 1st month!!! Started drinking from day one menstrual cycle. On the 10th day there was unprotected sex with vision directly into me. And on the 13th day the same thing! I take the pills regularly at the same time!!! Please tell me is there a possibility that I can get pregnant? Otherwise I’m very worried!

With regular and timely use of the drug Novinet, this drug has a reliable contraceptive effect. There is no reason to worry.

Anna asks:

Hello. Tell me, please, I’m taking the second pack of Novinet, the 6th tablet of the second pack was PA, today I should take the 8th tablet, but last night I started bleeding. Not much at all, closer to brown color. Could I get pregnant? I took Novinet as expected at the same time every day.

In this case, if you follow the instructions when taking the drug, pregnancy is unlikely. There may be a hormonal imbalance; you need to consult a gynecologist for an examination and a blood test for sex hormones.

Anna asks:

Thanks for the answer. I have another question. If after the first pack, instead of a 7-day break, you take an 8-day break, and on the 6th tablet of the second pack there was an unprotected PA, what is the likelihood of an unwanted pregnancy and is there any? I always drink at the same time.

If you do not take hormonal contraceptives regularly, it is necessary to use additional contraceptives, since the likelihood of unwanted pregnancy increases manyfold.

Lena asks:

I start taking Novinet. I started on the 3rd day of my period. I had unprotected sex on the 2nd tablet. What is the probability of getting pregnant?

The possibility of pregnancy exists, but it is low, given that sexual intercourse took place on the 5th day of the menstrual cycle. However, you must remember that: the full contraceptive effect of the drug occurs on the 14th day of regular use, so it is recommended to use additional methods of contraception for this period.

Ekaterina asks:

I took Novinet for 6 months and decided to take a break for 1 month! Having taken 21 tablets, I immediately had my period for 2 days, after which I had unprotected sexual intercourse, what is the probability of getting pregnant, considering that I haven’t had my period for a little over a month?

In this case, the probability of pregnancy, although small, is not excluded. You need to undergo an examination by a gynecologist and take a pregnancy test to find out the exact reason for the delay in menstruation.

Masha asks:

Hello. Please tell me. I started taking the second pack of Novinet after a 7-day break, and on the first pill I had unprotected sexual intercourse. Is there a chance of getting pregnant? I took the pills at the same time. Thank you in advance!

If you take birth control pills regularly, without skipping them, the likelihood of pregnancy in such a situation does not exceed that when using OCs in the middle of the cycle.

Marina asks:

I finished taking 4 packs of Novinet and instead of taking a 7-day break, I didn’t take pills for 8 days!!
What could it be?? and when to start drinking the 5th pack??

Start taking it on the 8th day. Take your pills as usual.

Olga asks:

I started taking pills from the 2nd day of 1 month. My husband and I had constant sexual intercourse with ejaculation from the very beginning of taking the pills. Is it possible to get pregnant like this?

Please clarify which hormonal contraceptive you are talking about.

Irina asks:

Hello! I have been taking Novinet for a year, I always drank according to the rules, taking breaks every 3 months. My husband and I decided to have a baby, I finished the last pack and we stopped using protection. During the first cycle, I suspected pregnancy, my breasts became enlarged, the second line on the test was barely visible, but there was no delay yet. I read that you need to plan a pregnancy 3 months after stopping OK. And I did it without interruptions. What does this mean? Is Novenet dangerous for pregnancy? What should I do?

It is recommended to plan pregnancy 3 months after stopping the contraceptive. In this case, it is necessary to consult a gynecologist immediately after detecting pregnancy. It will be necessary to perform a full gynecological examination. A three-month period before conception is necessary female body to restore natural hormonal levels.

Ksenia asks:

Hello! My name is Natalya, I took Novinet tablets for 21 days, and during this time I had sex with my partner without protection, is there a chance for me to get pregnant if he cums in the vagina???

Please specify, since what period (from which Novineta tablet) did you have unprotected sexual intercourse? With this information it will be possible to answer your question more accurately.

Natalya asks:

Well, somewhere from pill 16. Today I checked the test and it showed that there is no pregnancy, but I have a different opinion, it seems to me that I am pregnant, I really want it! My stomach is swollen, I have nausea due to strong unpleasant odors, I began to eat a lot. Well, if consider the last sexual contact we had on July 16th.

The express test does not always give accurate results. To clarify the diagnosis, it is recommended to donate blood for hCG and consult with a gynecologist.

Anna asks:

Hello. This is my first time taking Novinet. I started from the first day of the cycle. In the first 3-4 days I had unprotected sexual intercourse with my husband. Then they started side effects: terrible mood, spotting, decreased libido... and we didn’t have sex for 9 days. Then libido returned to normal and sexual activity began again. Just now I read a lot of reviews and was very scared that it turned out that I didn’t use any protection for the first 14 days. Tell me, what is the probability of getting pregnant?! Today is my last pill of the first cycle.

The maximum contraceptive effect when taking this drug develops no earlier than 14 days from the start of use. If you had unprotected sexual intercourse before this period expired, the likelihood of pregnancy is quite high.

Alina asks:

I’m 25 years old, I have two children, 4 and 1 year old, I don’t breastfeed, I started drinking Novinet 10 days ago, then I read somewhere that it’s not suitable for those giving birth, is that true? If so, should I stop taking it immediately, or finish the pack. And how should I start taking other pills? Thanks for the answer!

Before starting to take any contraceptive drug, you must consult a gynecologist to select the drug. In this case, it is recommended to continue taking the drug, and at this time consult with a gynecologist to choose the optimal drug for you.

Maria asks:

Hello, please tell me if I could get pregnant if I forgot to take the 7th pill and took two the next day, and somewhere on the 16th pill I had unprotected sex? I’m very worried because now I’m on a seven-day break, but I still haven’t gotten my period(((

If the missed pill was taken no later than 12 hours from the moment of skipping, then the contraceptive effect of the drug is not reduced, otherwise the risk of pregnancy is possible. For an accurate diagnosis, it is recommended to do an express test to determine pregnancy and consult with a gynecologist.

Tanya asks:

I took Novinet for the first month on the 13th, 17th day I was unprotected and after 21 tablets my period did not come, can I be pregnant?

Maximum contraceptive effectiveness when using Novinet develops by the 14th day from the start of use; if unprotected sexual intercourse occurred before this period, the likelihood of pregnancy increases. You need to undergo an examination by a gynecologist and check the level of hCG in the blood to rule out pregnancy.

Elena asks:

I drank 4 packs of “Janine” tablets, for 3 months in a row there was spotting, but on the fourth there was nothing. I drank everything as written in the instructions. I took a test but it didn't show anything. I'm very worried about pregnancy.

Pregnancy is unlikely while using hormonal contraceptives. This treatment is prescribed to restore hormonal levels and the menstrual cycle. If regular menstrual-like discharge does not occur while taking a contraceptive, then a personal consultation with a gynecologist and clinical and laboratory blood tests for sex hormones are necessary.

Marina asks:

Hello. Is it necessary to take additional protection during the first month of taking Yarina and for how long?

When using Yarina, you must use additional contraception for 7 days from the moment you start taking the pills. It is better to start using it from the first day of the menstrual cycle.

Dana asks:

Hello!! I really need your advice. I have been using Novinet tablets for 5 months now. I haven't been drinking at the same times for the last month. Is it possible to get pregnant because of this? The delay is 2 days, even though it’s already been 4 months after consuming the entire pack, my period comes in 2 days. I'm worried about heartburn, my chest is swollen and I often run to the toilet. Thank you in advance!

As a result of violation of the dosage regimen and time of taking the drug, the risk of pregnancy increases. It is recommended to conduct an express test to determine pregnancy at home and, if necessary, consult a gynecologist.

Marina asks:

Good afternoon! I have been taking Novinet for 6 months, and for 6 months my periods begin in the middle of taking the pills, and not during the 7-day break, as it should be. Should I continue taking Novinet or should I change tablets?

In this case, the menstrual cycle is disrupted. To diagnose this condition and prescribe adequate treatment, you need a personal consultation with a gynecologist. After a clinical gynecological examination, a blood test for sex hormones and thyroid hormones, it will be possible to make a diagnosis and prescribe adequate treatment.

Katya asks:

Hello. I take Novinet for the first month according to the instructions from the first day of the cycle. On the 12th day we had sex and the condom broke, followed by the end. The next day, at the right time, I took Novinet. So far the day has passed. Do I need to take an emergency contraceptive method? I read about how dangerous it is to have unprotected sexual intercourse for up to 14 days or up to a month and I’m worried. The gynecologist did not warn about this, the instructions also say that everything is ok from the first day..

Thanks for the answer!

The maximum effectiveness of emergency crontraceptive drugs can develop if the drug is taken on the first day after unprotected sexual intercourse. In your situation, there is indeed a possibility of pregnancy. However, you must understand that additional use Emergency contraceptive medications, combined with the use of hormone-containing contraceptives, can cause a powerful hormonal imbalance in the body, which, in turn, can cause various complications, including infertility.

Katya asks:

Thanks for the answer! We also decided that drinking pastinor is dangerous. We will rely on the reliability of Novinet :)

Be sure to take a pregnancy test 14 days after intercourse. At earlier stages, pregnancy can be detected by determining the level of hCG in the blood. Good health to you.

Katya asks:

It turns out that the test is approximately on the 22nd day of the cycle (the package of tablets ends on the 21st day)? Is it possible to donate blood earlier during the appointment? or how? When does it make sense to go and donate blood and will the test while taking coke not give a false positive result? Thanks for the answer!)

No, the test will not give a false positive result. You can take it as early as 5-6 days after possible conception. If menstruation does not occur during the break in the use of Novinet, it will be necessary to check the level of hCG in the blood and undergo an examination by a gynecologist.

VERONICA asks:

Hello! I’m taking Novinet tablets for the first time. I’ve already been taking the 13th tablet as expected, without missing a period since the first day of my period. But from the first dose my chest hurts - please tell me, is this normal or should I see a doctor?

You should only contact a gynecologist if the symptoms you describe persist for more than a month.

Tatyana asks:

I started taking pills on the 5th day of my period, and since I only had them for 3 days, then on the second day after the end of the discharge (I confused that the 1-2 day of the period is 1-2 after the end) 1 month. My husband and I had constant sexual intercourse with ejaculation from the very beginning of taking the pills. (or rather, the next day of taking them) is it possible to get pregnant like this? If so, what are the consequences for the child?

Please specify the name of the contraceptive you are using.

Tatyana comments:

started taking regulon

The answer from the medical college provided below provides the most complete information on your question.

Tatyana asks:

started taking regulon

In this case, the probability of pregnancy is quite high. It will be possible to resume taking Regulon only after pregnancy has been ruled out (it is necessary to undergo an examination by a gynecologist and check the level of hCG in the blood (this test is more accurate than determining hCG in urine using a rapid test)). Even if pregnancy does occur while using Regulon, this is not a reason for its medical termination, since Regulon, like other COCs, does not have a damaging effect on the fetus and does not cause congenital developmental anomalies in the fetus.

Katya asks:

Hello! I took Novinet for 1 month, my period started on the 4th day. Very painful and profuse, the skin became worse, the weight crept up, shortness of breath appeared, although I quit smoking. I want to switch to Yarina, because the gynecologist recommended either Novinet or Yarina when selecting me. I'm 20, gynecologically healthy. There are cysts in the kidney. How to technically do this? Is it possible to start drinking Yarina instead of Novinet from day 1 after 28 days of the cycle, or should I drink it for another month and switch after 21 days? Does this affect the contraceptive effect? Do I need to get tested again? I really need your consultation, as I only have an appointment with the doctor at the end of the month.
Thank you!

It is recommended to first consult with a gynecologist and donate blood for sex hormones. Only after receiving the results of the examination, the specialist doctor will select the optimal drug for you and a scheme for switching from one drug to another.

Tatyana asks:

Hello, I took Regulon for the first time since day 5; on the first days of taking it, my husband and I had unprotected contacts. 3 days ago I stopped taking them, went on a business trip and decided that there was no need for me to take them before my period. Yesterday I started having a period-like discharge. Before that, I was wondering if there could be a pregnancy, they told me that if I didn’t use OK correctly, the probability was high. I have a question: what kind of discharge is this? If it’s menstruation, should I assume that I’m not pregnant?

Most likely, such discharge may be withdrawal bleeding due to a sudden cessation of taking OCs, however, if your condition changes, abdominal pain, weakness, or other symptoms of pregnancy appear, you will definitely need to do an ultrasound of the pelvic organs and undergo an examination by a gynecologist.

Elena asks:

Hello, my name was Elena, I’m 23 years old. I’ve been taking Novinet for the second year... My period started on time... My partner cums inside me. Now I have a slight delay... What is the likelihood of pregnancy?

Even with regular use of any oral contraceptive, including Novinet, the likelihood of pregnancy remains (less than 5%). Therefore, if there is a delay in menstruation, before resuming taking OCs, it is necessary to exclude pregnancy.

Olga asks:

Hello! I started drinking Yarina (1 month) on the 1st day of my period. On the 4th day after taking it, unprotected sexual intercourse with ejaculation occurred. What is the likelihood of pregnancy? What to do next?

There is a chance of pregnancy, but not high. It is recommended to donate blood for hCG 10 days after sexual intercourse and, if necessary, consult a gynecologist.

Natalia asks:

Hello. I started taking Novinet for the first month, but my menstruation began in the late afternoon and I started taking OK the next morning, and on the eighth day of taking the tablets I ejaculated, which is the likelihood of pregnancy. I always take it at the same time.

In the situation you describe, with regular and timely use of Novinet, the likelihood of pregnancy is practically excluded.

Martha asks:

Hello. I have been taking OK Novinet for 1 month. I read in the instructions that menstruation can be delayed if you continue to take the pills without a 7-day break. Tell me if this can be done in the first month of taking them and how to take them if I need to delay them for 8 days. It is worth taking only these days or taking the second blister to the end.

In this situation, after completing the use of tablets from the first pack, it is necessary to immediately begin using Novinet from the second pack - that is, do not take a seven-day break. Please remember that such interference hormonal background, can lead to gross dysfunction of the ovaries, which can manifest as menstrual irregularities, as well as breakthrough uterine bleeding.

Martha comments:

Is it necessary to take the second pack to the end or take only the required number of days

Lesya asks:

Hello! I’m taking the first pack of Novinet, today I’m already on my 11th pill, I started everything according to the instructions on the first day of my period, everything was on time, except that the difference was 15 minutes later once, but I’m still getting them in small quantities brown discharge, and acne appears! Please tell me is this normal? And will it be possible not to use protection on the 14th day of taking the pills???

In the first 3 months, the body gets used to the contraceptive drug; if after 3 months the menstrual cycle is not established, it is recommended to consult a gynecologist to decide on the need to change the drug. After 10-14 days of regular use of the drug, you may not need to use additional barrier methods of contraception. Read more in the article: "Novinet"

Tatyana asks:

Hello. I have been taking Novinet for several months. I took the last pill of the course on October 21, the last day of my period was October 30, on which I had unprotected intercourse with ejaculation inside. What is the probability of pregnancy if I started taking a new course of the drug on the same day?

Allah asks:

Hello, I have been taking Novinet for 11 months, after a 7-day rest, it happens that I can start taking a new pack after two weeks and not use protection, is it possible to get pregnant during this period. Thank you in advance.

Lika asks:

Tell me please! If you constantly take Novinet for several months, do everything as written in the instructions, do you need to protect yourself on the 1st day, or 2.3.4 after the 7th period when using the next package?

If you take Novinet in accordance with the instructions, without omissions, without joint use of drugs that reduce the contraceptive activity of Novinet, during the break and at the beginning of using tablets from the next pack, the likelihood of pregnancy does not increase. You can read more about the principle of action of this drug, indications and contraindications for use, about means and situations that reduce its contraceptive activity in the thematic section dedicated to it: Novinet. We must not forget that with regular use of any hormone-containing contraceptive drugs, it is necessary to undergo examination by a gynecologist at least once every six months. Such examinations are necessary for the timely identification and elimination of possible negative effects from the use of this method of contraception.

Alina asks:

I have been taking Novinet since the first day of my period. I'm 16. My cycle is somewhere between 24 - 27 days. On the 9th tablet there was an unprotected pa. Could I be pregnant?

The maximum contraceptive effect when using Novinet develops on the tenth day after the start of its use. When starting to use this drug, it is necessary to use additional means of contraception - a condom in the first ten days, after starting its regular use, if unprotected sexual intercourse occurs before the expiration of this period, there is a possibility of pregnancy. You can read more about the likelihood of pregnancy in a series of our articles devoted to various situations in which the likelihood of fertilization and conception remains: Probability of becoming pregnant.

Natalya asks:

Hello, I’ve been taking Lindinet 30 for the first month, before this month I took Logest, I lost the 12th tablet and took 13 on the 15th day of taking it, I was unprotected, I didn’t always take sex pills on time, the difference was from an hour to three, I almost never washed them down with water, more often with tea, is it possible that there will be pregnancy ? And doesn't alcohol reduce the effect of the pills?

Anastasia asks:

I have been taking Novinet for the second month, I had interrupted unprotected sexual intercourse. Today is already the 4th day of the seven-day break, and still no period. What is the probability of pregnancy???

Hello! I have a question.. I started drinking OK Median from the first day of menstruation...... it’s already the 7th day and my periods are coming, well, of course, they’re not as heavy as at the beginning, but they are there.... is this normal??
And another question: from what day of taking OK Median can you have unprotected sex if you started drinking OK from the first day of your period?

The full contraceptive effect of the drug usually begins on the 7-10th day of regular use of the drug; until then, it is recommended to use barrier methods of contraception. Hello, please tell me, I have been taking Novinet for more than a year and a half, six months ago I took a break for a month, I always took it regularly at the same time, it so happened that in the next package I forgot to take the 3rd tablet, I took it 15-16 hours later, next pill I wanted to take it as usual, but I only took it 4 hours later, and after that there was unprotected contact, what is the likelihood of pregnancy and should I stop taking the pills or finish them?

Ekaterina asks:

Hello! I’m 19. Yesterday I finished taking Novinet tablets, the last of the pack (I’m taking the first month), I started taking them from the first day - my periods were longer than usual, unfortunately I didn’t take them at the same time, I didn’t miss more than 7 hours during For 2 weeks there was a little blood coming out, especially the last few days - in the evening it seemed to stop, and in the morning there was blood again, like in the last days of menstruation... the lower abdomen ached a little, now I’m on a break, but the bleeding still hasn’t stopped flowing, can you please tell me Is this how the body adapts? Should I take Novinet from a new pack?

During the first cycle of using the drug Novinet, it is possible that bloody discharge As a rule, such discharge disappears on its own. However, if spotting is accompanied by pain in the lower abdomen, it is advisable to undergo an examination by a gynecologist before resuming the use of Novinet. Taisiya asks:

Good afternoon. I took Novinet for three months and was about to stop taking it. I drank the pack, and during the 7-day break I started bleeding (from the 16th to the 19th). I have a question: on the first day after the seven-day break (the 20th), when I no longer take this drug, sexual intercourse occurred, my partner came inside me. What is the probability of getting pregnant?

Alina asks:

hello! this is my second cycle of taking Novinet, I started in July, after the first pack I took a 7-day break, now I’m on day 16 of taking the pills and I noticed that I started to have a little bleeding, not spotting, but the usual bright red blood and a little pain, which happens with menstruation in the lower abdomen. I don’t know what to think, all this time I have a regular sexual partner and we don’t use anything else to protect ourselves. Could this have something to do with the fact that I’ve been at a resort in a warm country for two weeks now? option I can’t go to the gynecologist now. Please help.

When taking contraceptive drugs in the first three cycles of use, spotting and breakthrough bleeding may be observed, if the bleeding is not heavy there is no cause for concern, you just need to continue taking the drug on the prescribed schedule, otherwise you need to be examined by a gynecologist to prescribe symptomatic treatment and deciding whether to discontinue the drug. Alina comments:

Today is the second day of bleeding and it has become worse, dark red with small burgundy clots and my stomach hurts below. This can't be symptoms of pregnancy or miscarriage, can it? How long can breakthrough bleeding last normally?

Normally, no more than 7-10 days; if the pain intensifies, the bleeding becomes more profuse, a personal examination by a specialist doctor and the prescription of symptomatic treatment is necessary. Ekaetrina asks:

Hello! I am writing to you with the following question: July 24 (the first day of my period) I started taking Novinet (for the first time), 10 days later I had sexual intercourse with ejaculation inside, I drank a pack and my period started, 7 days later (Aug 21) I started the second one. ..my lower back aches from time to time even when I drank the first pack, could I get pregnant? Or is it something else? I haven’t missed a single tablet

Ekaterina, if you did everything correctly and regularly took the pills at the same time every day, then the risk of getting pregnant is extremely low. The drug Novinet is a reliable and proven drug, and its contraceptive effect exceeds 99%. The aching pain that bothers you may be caused by other reasons, but not by pregnancy. You should consult your gynecologist to sort out the issue of aching pain. They may be associated with inflammatory causes, adaptation of the body to changes in hormonal levels, or other reasons. Only your doctor can solve this issue. You should not stop taking the medication yourself, since your complaints are not an indication for this. You can learn more about hormonal contraception and the drug Novinet by reading the section: Novinet

Marina asks:

Hello! I have been taking Logest for the second month now. The gynecologist prescribed me to take hormonal medications after surgery (rupture of a right ovarian cyst). After the operation, another paraovarian cyst was discovered in the same place, its size was 24 mm. It's been a little over two months now. please tell me, is it possible to do PA at all and how often? does this affect the condition of the cyst (since sometimes after PA there is pain in the right lower abdomen) And what is the likelihood of getting pregnant while taking Logest exactly according to the instructions, if you do PA several times in a row without additional protection?

With proper use of a contraceptive drug, the risk of unwanted pregnancy is minimal. In that case. if the cyst persists, pain appears during sexual intercourse, menstruation occurs with pain and severe bleeding, it is necessary to consult a gynecologist to decide on the need for surgical removal cysts. Regular sex life is not contraindicated, but sex should not be too violent, because... there is a risk of cyst rupture. Evgenia asks:

Good afternoon. I have already drunk 2 packs of Novinet. prescribed after an abortion for medical reasons. On July 5 we had a mini abortion. and on the same day I started drinking Novinet. I didn't get my period during the seven-day break. The ultrasound showed the remains of the fertilized egg. On August 1st we made the mini again. starting from August 2nd it was new again.... during the seven-day break after the second pack, my period came on August 23rd. On day 8, August 30, I started drinking the third pack of Novinet. I didn’t miss my pills. On the 3rd tablet (September 1), unprotected sexual intercourse occurred. on this day I took the pill 6 hours later than usual. Is there a chance of pregnancy? Thank you.

In the situation you describe, the likelihood of pregnancy is practically excluded, since the delay in using the hormone-containing contraceptive drug occurred in the first week of its use. You can continue using Novinet as usual, without using additional contraception (condoms). You can read more about the indications and contraindications for prescribing Novinet in our medical information section of the same name: Novinet.

Lina asks:

hello, I’m already drinking the third pack of Novinet, halfway through the second the bleeding started, I didn’t take a break and immediately started drinking the third, today is the 6th day of the third pack, the bleeding has already been for 12 days (it started on the 16th day, 2 packs) and every day is of a completely different nature, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little, sometimes bright red, sometimes brown with clots. a week before the bleeding began, I had sexual intercourse with ejaculation internally, but I took the pills on time, although I took “spasmalgon” several times. Maybe it reduced the activity of the pills? Should I exclude the possibility of pregnancy? Or is this normal breakthrough bleeding? The most important question is, should I continue drinking or is it better to stop taking the drug?

In your case, there is a suspicion of breakthrough bleeding, since you violated the regimen of taking Novinet. You should take this drug strictly according to the schedule. Spasmalgon does not affect the effectiveness of hormonal contraceptives. I think that with the symptoms you described, there is no point in ruling out pregnancy. To decide whether to continue taking this medication or replace it with another contraceptive, you need to visit a gynecologist. More information about Novinet, admission rules and possible complications in case of violation of the regimen, you can find out from the section: Novinet

Anna asks:

Hello. I missed 5 tablets of Novinet, I was supposed to take it on August 26 at 8:30 p.m., but I took it on August 27 at 8:30 p.m. along with the next 6 tablet. On the 10th tablet there was unprotected sexual intercourse. How possible is pregnancy in this case? Has the body managed to accumulate a sufficient concentration of the drug? I'm on my second cycle

If you missed a Novinet tablet and took it the next day, along with the next one, then it is recommended to continue taking it further according to the regimen. For 7 days, according to the instructions for this medication, it is necessary to use additional methods of barrier contraception, since the contraceptive effect is reduced and there is a risk of unwanted pregnancy. In the case of hormonal contraceptives, one cannot talk about “accumulation of concentration”, since the mechanism of action is different. You can get more detailed information about this drug in the section: Novinet

Anna asks:

And what is the pregnancy rate in my case?

Anna comments:

Your period has arrived, and what a blast! Now I will take everything very carefully and in a timely manner! and a question. Is it possible to do unprotected PA on the third cycle with the first pill? the eighth day after the break begins on Wednesday, PA on Thursday :) thank you)

Alena asks:

Hello! I started taking Novinet on the 5th day of my period (I didn’t have time to start the first and the gynecologist advised me to start on the 5th day), she also said that I need to use protection for the first week. I finished drinking the first pack, my period started, I’ll start the second soon. I’d like to know , Do I need to defend myself during the first week of the second and subsequent packs? Thank you in advance.

No, in the situation you describe, from the start of using the second pack of Novinet, there is no need to use additional contraception. You can read more about the rules for using Novinet and its effect on a woman’s body in our thematic section: Novinet.

Tatyana asks:

Hello, I have a question: I am 27 years old, I have two children 4.6 and 1.2, a month ago I had an abortion, the doctor advised me to drink NOVINET for 3 months. I didn’t buy it right away and decided to wait for my period, but I accidentally read that women who have given birth should not drink - is that true? If yes, can I continue to drink after taking it for 3 months?

Any contraceptive drug is selected individually, it all depends on the level of hormonal levels and the situation in which it is necessary to start taking this drug. This drug is not contraindicated for use by women who have given birth, it can be taken for as long as necessary, if the drug is suitable for you, but if pronounced side effects are observed during the period of taking the drug, it will be necessary to make a decision on replacing or discontinuing the hormonal drug . Read more about this contraceptive drug in a series of articles by clicking on the link: Novinet.

Marina asks:

Is it possible to get pregnant in the first cycle of taking Yarina?

Maria asks:

Good morning. Tell me what is the probability of pregnancy if I take Novinette for 5 months, regularly at the same time, with the exception of the last month, the time of taking is not always the same with a difference of 6 hours, but every day. Today is the 15th tablet. There were unprotected sexual intercourses from 1.09.12-8.09.12. My last period started on 08/29/12. The cycle is 27-28 days.

If you follow the dosage schedule and do not miss a dose up to 12 hours, the effectiveness of this drug is high. However, it is recommended to take it at the same time every day to minimize the risk of unwanted pregnancy. In your case, the risk of pregnancy is minimal. You can find out more in the section: Jess

Oksana asks:

Hello, I have been taking Novinet for 13 days and all this time I have been bleeding, and from the 4th day of taking the pills I have had unprotected sexual intercourse. What is the probability of getting pregnant?

During the first cycle of taking the drug, spotting may be observed; this may be a variant of the norm; if the situation does not normalize after the third cycle of taking the drug, you will need to consult a gynecologist to decide whether to discontinue or replace the drug. If you have had unprotected sexual intercourse since the fourth day of use, the risk of pregnancy is quite high, because The full contraceptive effect of the drug occurs only on the 7-10th day of regular use of Novinet. Read more about this contraceptive drug by clicking on the link: Novinet.

Maya asks:

Hello! Please tell me, is it possible, when changing the drug Diane-35 to Novinet, to get pregnant on the 9th day of taking Novinet? (I take it from the first day of menstruation, on one time) from what period can you not use additional contraception?

If both drugs are taken regularly and the transition was made in accordance with the instructions, in other words, immediately after completing the use of the 21st Diane-35 tablet, you began using Novinet (without a seven-day break) - additional contraception is not needed. If there was a seven-day break and you started using Novinet on the eighth day of the break, additional contraception (condom) will need to be used for two weeks. You can read more about the hormone-containing drug Novinet and the rules for its use, as well as the effect of this drug on hormonal levels in our thematic section of the same name: Novinet.

Maya comments:

After finishing using Diane-35, a 3-day break was taken, then my period started and I took Novinet on day 1, on day 9 there was an act without additional protection, on what day does Novinet take full effect, in this case? What is the probability of getting pregnant?Novinet

Polina asks:

Hello!
Almost 3 months ago I gave birth. The doctor prescribed Charrosette tablets to me, since I was breastfeeding. Having finished the pack, my periods began, but they were very scanty. It was “anointed” for 3 days and that’s all. From the first day of these periods I started taking Novinet. I no longer breastfed .Can this scanty discharge mean that I became pregnant while taking the pill? Is it possible to get pregnant when changing hormonal contraceptives?
Thanks a lot!

Tatyana asks:

I started using birth control pills, the discharge started (it feels like menstruation, and my stomach hurts, like during menstruation, but it came 10 days earlier and is scanty) What could it be? Help..

Please clarify which drug you are talking about. Were there any omissions in using contraception, vomiting, or bouts of diarrhea? Since what day did you start using contraception, did you stop using additional contraceptives (condoms) during sexual intercourse? With this information, it will be possible to answer your question more accurately.

Elena asks:

Hello! I’m interested in this question - I’m taking “Yarina”, on the 2nd I took the 21st tablet, and on the 5th I got my period and had an unprotected PA. What is the probability of pregnancy? “I’ve been taking Yarina” for 4 months now.

If you take the hormonal contraceptive Yarina according to the regimen and do not miss taking pills, then its contraceptive effect applies to the entire duration of use, including break days. These days you also don’t have to worry and you don’t need additional contraception. You can learn more about this from our thematic section: Yarina

Anonymous asks:

Hello, I have a question, I’ve been taking Novinet for half a year, an operation to correct the nasal septum is scheduled for October 17, I already changed my mind about having it, but in the last few days I decided... The instructions say that you need to stop taking the drug before the operation, but My pills run out just the day before surgery, what should I do????

In cases where a major operation with long subsequent immobilization is expected, it is recommended to stop taking the drug Novinet in advance. If the surgical intervention is minor, then you need to inform the surgeon and anesthesiologist that you are taking hormonal contraceptives in order to decide whether to postpone the operation or perform it on time. You can get more information about this in the thematic section of our website: Novinet

Hello! The instructions for using Belara state that the initial use of the drug should begin on the 5th day of the cycle. Tell me, please, is it possible to start from 8 days? And, if so, how long will it be necessary to use additional protective measures?

If you want to take this drug for the purpose of contraception (i.e. not with therapeutic purpose, as prescribed by a doctor), you need to start using it no later than the fifth day of the menstrual cycle (ideally, from the first day of the menstrual cycle), otherwise, the contraceptive effect will not appear in this menstrual cycle (the entire period of use of the drug from this pack, you will need use additional contraception). You can read more about the various options for contraception in our medical information section: Contraception and contraceptives.

Allah asks:

Good afternoon,
I have an urgent question and I would be very grateful to receive an answer from you.
I have been taking Novinet regularly for the first month, and on the 15th day of taking it I had an unprotected act, after which I have reddish-brownish spotting every day.
Tell me what does this mean? Dishormonal state or possible pregnancy?

If you take Novinet regularly and at the same time, then an unplanned pregnancy is excluded. There is also no need to resort to additional contraceptive measures during the entire cycle. Bloody discharge is associated with taking the drug and may occur during the first months of use. You can learn more about this drug from the section: Novinet

Natalya asks:

Hello! Please tell me. I started taking the second pack of Novinet after a 7-day break, and an unprotected PA occurred on the first pill. Is there a chance of getting pregnant? I took the pills at the same time. Thank you in advance.

If you took Novinet regularly (there were no gaps when using the first pack of the drug, menstruation occurred on time), there should be no reason for concern - the contraceptive activity of Novinet should not have decreased, therefore, there is no need to be afraid of pregnancy. You can read more about the effect of the drug Novinet on hormonal levels and the rules for its use in our thematic section with the same name: Novinet.

Yarina Isabella comments:

I also missed the 15th pill, I completely forgot to take it at 9 pm, I took it the next day at 9 pm, there was a PA, what is the chance of getting pregnant? and I took the 18th tablet not at 9 pm on the desired day, but the next day somewhere at 11 am... Lately Nausea and headache..pregnancy?

Olga asks:

Hello! I have this situation. I have been taking Novinet pills for 4 months, and every time we have unprotected sexual intercourse. I haven’t had my period for a week now, I take the pills at the same time.. Is this definitely pregnancy or some kind of malfunction in the body? Thank you !

The contraceptive Novinet is considered an effective contraceptive. In that case. If you take the pills regularly, if you have not recently taken antibacterial drugs and you have not had prolonged vomiting or diarrhea, you are very unlikely to become pregnant. However, no contraceptive provides a 100% guarantee, so if a delay occurs, it is necessary to exclude the possibility of pregnancy. I recommend that you take a pregnancy test or hCG test. You can learn more about these diagnostic methods from the section: HCG analysis

Olga asks:

Please tell me, I took Midiana for 7 months because it didn’t work, the gynecologist advised Novinet, I switched to it that way and finished the last tablet of Midiana. I waited until my period arrived and started drinking Novinet. I just don’t understand, is it necessary to take additional protection and, if necessary, how much? Because I had sexual intercourse with 5 and 8 tablets, but it was interrupted.

If you switch to a new contraceptive, it is recommended to use barrier methods only during the first 7 days of taking the pills. In the future, you do not need any other contraceptive measures, including those days when you take a break. This product has high contraceptive effects and guarantees reliable contraceptive effect. The most important thing is, please follow the dosage regimen. In your case, pregnancy is excluded since coitus interruptus was used. You can learn more about the drug Novinet from the thematic section of our website: Novinet

Aigerim asks:

Hello, please tell me, I’ve been taking Yarina for the third month now, after a seven-day break I took the first pill on the eighth day in the morning and had unprotected sex in the evening, what is the likelihood of pregnancy? What is the effectiveness of the first pill, but from the third package? Now I continue to take it

If you take Yarina birth control pills and regularly follow the dosing order, you have no risk of pregnancy, since this drug does not require additional contraceptive measures. During all days of admission and on days off, you do not need to take additional protection. You can learn more about this contraceptive from the section: Yarina

Novinet is a hormonal contraceptive drug. Instructions for use classify these tablets as microdosed contraceptives.

Release form and composition

Novinet is released in dosage form enteric film-coated tablets for oral (inside) use. They are light yellow in color, round in shape and have a biconvex surface. The tablet contains 2 main active ingredients:

  • Desogestrel – 150 mcg.
  • Ethinyl estradiol – 20 mcg.

The composition also includes auxiliary components.

Novinet tablets are packaged in blister packs of 21 pieces. The cardboard pack contains 1 or 3 blisters with the appropriate number of tablets, as well as instructions for use of the drug.

Indications for use

What does Novinet help with? According to the instructions, Novinet tablets are used:

  • for the treatment of functional disorders of the menstrual cycle;
  • at premenstrual syndrome;
  • as a means of oral contraception.

Instructions for use

The drug is prescribed orally.

Taking pills starts on the 1st day of the menstrual cycle. Prescribe 1 tablet per day for 21 days, if possible at the same time of day. After taking the last tablet from the package, take a 7-day break, during which menstrual-like bleeding occurs due to drug withdrawal.

The next day after a 7-day break (4 weeks after taking the first tablet, on the same day of the week), resume taking the drug from the next package, also containing 21 tablets, even if the bleeding has not stopped.

This pill regimen is followed as long as there is a need for contraception. If you follow the rules of administration, the contraceptive effect remains during the 7-day break.

First dose of the drug

The first tablet should be taken on the first day of the menstrual cycle. In this case, it is not necessary to use additional methods of contraception. You can start taking pills from the 2-5th day of menstruation, but in this case, in the first cycle of using the drug, you must use additional methods of contraception in the first 7 days of taking the pills.

If more than 5 days have passed since the start of menstruation, you should delay starting the drug until your next menstruation.

Vomiting or nausea

If vomiting or diarrhea occurs after taking the drug, then absorption of the drug may be inadequate. If the symptoms stop within 12 hours, then you need to take one more tablet. After this, you should continue taking the tablets as usual. If vomiting or diarrhea continues for more than 12 hours, then it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception during vomiting or diarrhea and for the next 7 days.

Taking the drug after an abortion

After an abortion, in the absence of contraindications, you should start taking pills from the first day after surgery, and in this case there is no need to use additional methods of contraception.

Missed pills

If a woman forgot to take a pill on time, and no more than 12 hours have passed since the omission, she needs to take the forgotten pill, and then continue taking it at the usual time. If more than 12 hours have passed between taking pills, this is considered a missed pill, the reliability of contraception in this cycle is not guaranteed and the use of additional methods of contraception is recommended.

If you miss one tablet in the first or second week of the cycle, you must take 2 tablets the next day and then continue regular use, using additional methods of contraception until the end of the cycle.

If you miss a pill in the third week of the cycle, you should take the forgotten pill, continue taking it regularly and not take a 7-day break. It is important to remember that due to the minimum dose of estrogen, the risk of ovulation and/or spotting increases if you miss a pill and therefore the use of additional methods of contraception is recommended.

Taking the drug after childbirth

Women who are not breastfeeding can start taking the pill no earlier than 21 days after giving birth, after consulting with their doctor. In this case, there is no need to use other methods of contraception.

If there has already been sexual contact after childbirth, then taking the pills should be postponed until the first menstruation. If a decision is made to take the drug later than 21 days after birth, then additional methods of contraception must be used in the first 7 days.

Delay of the menstrual cycle

If there is a need to delay menstruation, you must continue taking the tablets from the new package, without a 7-day break, according to the usual regimen. When menstruation is delayed, breakthrough or spotting bleeding may occur, but this does not reduce the contraceptive effect of the drug. Regular use of Novinet can be resumed after the usual 7-day break.

Switching from another oral contraceptive

After using another hormonal oral contraceptive containing 30 mcg ethinyl estradiol, according to a 21-day regimen, it is recommended to take the first Novinet tablet the day after completing the course of the previous drug. There is no need to take a 7-day break or wait for the start of menstruation. There is no need to use additional methods of contraception.

When switching from a drug containing 28 tablets, the next day after the tablets in the package run out, you should start a new package of Novinet.

Switching to Novinet after using oral hormonal drugs containing only progestogen ("mini-pill")

The first Novinet tablet should be taken on the 1st day of the cycle. There is no need to use additional methods of contraception.

If menstruation does not occur while taking the “mini-pill”, then after excluding pregnancy, you can start taking Novinet on any day of the cycle, but in this case, in the first 7 days it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception (using a cervical cap with spermicidal gel, a condom, or abstinence from sexual intercourse). The use of the calendar method in these cases is not recommended.

Also read the instructions for using the contraceptive drug.

pharmachologic effect

Novinet is a monophasic hormonal contraceptive drug for oral administration. The medication contains a combination of estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and gestagen (desogestrel). The main contraceptive effect is to inhibit gonadotropins and suppress ovulation.

By increasing the viscosity of the cervical fluid, the movement of sperm through the cervical canal slows down, and changes in the condition of the endometrium prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg.

Ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic analogue of the follicular hormone estradiol.

Desogestrel has a pronounced gestagenic and antiestrogenic effect, similar to endogenous progesterone, and weak androgenic and anabolic activity. The drug has a beneficial effect on lipid metabolism: it increases the HDL content in plasma without affecting the LDL content.

When taking the drug, the loss of menstrual blood is significantly reduced (in case of initial menorrhagia), the menstrual cycle is normalized, and a beneficial effect on the skin is noted, especially in the presence of acne vulgaris.

One of the most popular oral contraceptives is Novinet. It is quite inexpensive in price (which also matters) and at the same time of high quality, so it is accessible even to women with little income.

Description of the drug

What is Novinet? This is a microdosed single-phase oral contraceptive. The active ingredients of Novinet are ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel. Their content in the drug is the highest: in 1 tablet of Novinet there are 20 mcg of ethinyl estradiol and 150 mcg of desogestrel. Magnesium stearate, potato starch, stearic acid, lactose, α-tocopherol, quinoline yellow dye (E104), colloidal silicon dioxide, povidone are used as excipients.

To make it convenient for a woman to take the pills, they are numbered on the packaging and marked with arrows.

If you have an ovarian cyst, Novinet can be used, but regular supervision by a specialist is required.

It is recommended to start taking Novinet for the first time on the first day. Then you will no longer need to use other means of contraception - a cap, a condom, a ring. You can also start taking pills on the second or third day of your period. But then you will need to take care of additional methods of protection against pregnancy, since a 100% result is obtained only by taking pills from the beginning of monthly discharge.

After an abortion, Novinet is prescribed to be taken on the day of surgery. This will allow you to calmly carry on even during the first month after an abortion. sex life and not use protection.

A woman who has given birth can start taking Novinet no earlier than three weeks after giving birth. (But only those who are not breastfeeding can protect themselves from pregnancy with this remedy.) In this case, you don’t have to use protection. If a woman has had sexual intercourse after childbirth, then taking a contraceptive should be postponed until her first menstruation. Before that, during the first week of taking the pills, use a condom or other methods of protection against pregnancy.

Contraindications

It is not recommended to use Novinet in the presence of severe or multiple factors of venous thrombosis, with increased blood pressure more than 160/100 mmHg, with frequent migraines, myocardial infarction, thrombophlebitis, varicose veins, with diabetes mellitus, cholelithiasis, liver diseases, Gilbert, Dubin-Johnson, Rotor syndromes, otorosclerosis, vaginal bleeding of unknown etiology, with malignant neoplasms of the mammary glands or genital organs, as well as if they are suspected. The drug should not be used while smoking (if you smoke more than 15 cigarettes per day) or during lactation.

The instructions recommend that Novinet is contraindicated during pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.

Side effects

Among the side effects that can cause taking this medication are hypertension, hearing loss, headache, migraine, mood swings, nausea, and vomiting. Bloody vaginal discharge, candidiasis, pain and enlargement of the mammary glands are also possible; amenorrhea often occurs after discontinuation of the drug.

The instructions for use of the drug also contain recommendations on the use of a contraceptive in cases where it is necessary to postpone menstruation or in case of missing pills.

To remember to take your pills, set a reminder on your mobile phone.

With the help of Novinet, you can shift the date of menstruation. To do this, after taking 21 tablets, you do not need to take a seven-day break, but should immediately start taking tablets from the next package.

If you forget to take your medicine at the usual time, but less than 12 hours have passed since then, you should take the missed tablet as soon as possible and continue taking the medicine at the usual time. If the missed period is more than 12 hours, you will need to take care of additional contraception until the end of the cycle.

Storage conditions

The drug should be stored in a cool, dry place. Novinet is available from the pharmacy without a doctor's prescription.

You can find out more detailed information about the drug Novinet by consulting your gynecologist or the specialists of the Medep Family Medicine Center.

Content

The medication is a hormonal contraceptive that belongs to the category of monophasic oral contraceptives. It contains a daily dose of the estrogen component, so the medicine is microdosed. Women of reproductive age use it to prevent unwanted pregnancy. The general principle of action of the drug is to suppress ovulation and prevent the penetration of sperm through the cervical canal.

Instructions for use of Novinet

The effectiveness of the drug is due to the content of synthetic estrogenic and progestin components, which are more effective compared to natural sex hormones. The advantage of the drug is the absence of beneficial metabolic effects on lipid and carbohydrate metabolism, increasing the concentration of lipoproteins. In addition, judging by the reviews, the drug is well tolerated and has minimal side effects, but this requires the use of the medication strictly according to the instructions.

Composition and release form

The drug is available in only one form - film-coated tablets. They are light yellow in color, have a biconvex shape and are marked on both sides: on one - P9, on the other - RG. The composition of Novinet is reflected in more detail in the table:

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The active components in the drug prevent ovulation. This property is due to the prevention of the release of hormones: follitropin and luteotropin. The effect is enhanced by increasing the viscosity of cervical mucus. This makes it more difficult for sperm to penetrate the uterine cavity. The risk of estrogen-dependent side effects is minimized, since the concentration of the estrogen component in the drug is very low.

The second active component, called desogestrel, is a second generation gestagen. It normalizes lipid profiles, ensures cholesterol balance, and has a positive effect on metabolism. As a result of the combined action of desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol:

  • skin condition improves;
  • blood loss is reduced;
  • the likelihood of gynecological pathologies, including tumors, decreases;
  • the menstrual cycle is normalized.

Absorption of active substances occurs in the proximal small intestine. Their advantage is that they are absorbed quickly and almost completely. Desogestrel has 3-keto-desogestrel as its main metabolic product. The activity of its other metabolites is practically zero. The bioavailability of desogestrel is 62-81%, and ethinyl estradiol - 60%. The degree of protein binding is high for both substances. Their maximum concentration is reached 1-1.5 hours after administration. Other characteristics of the pharmacokinetics of the contraceptive:

  • The half-life of desogestrel is 30 hours, and that of ethinyl estradiol is 24 hours;
  • a tenth of the dose taken is found in the breast milk of a nursing woman;
  • ethinyl estradiol is able to accumulate in adipose tissue, and its metabolic products are eliminated in bile (60%) and urine (40%);
  • Metabolic products of desogestrel are excreted by the kidneys.

Indications for use

The main indication for the use of Novinet is protection against unwanted pregnancy. This drug is considered the first-line contraceptive of choice. Additionally, the medicine can be used for:

  • premenstrual syndrome;
  • dysmenorrhea;
  • fibroids;
  • functional disorders of the menstrual cycle.

How to take Novinet

Novinet contraceptive pills are indicated for oral use. They are taken orally with a drink big amount liquids. The course must be started no later than the 5th day of the menstrual cycle. When the pill is taken on days 2-5, then in the first week it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception. No absences or breaks are allowed for three weeks. You must take the tablet at the same time every day. Conditions for taking the contraceptive:

  • a week break is taken from 22 to 28 days of the menstrual cycle;
  • on the 29th day the course is resumed, even if the bleeding has not stopped (a new pack will be required, the start of the new course falls on the same day of the week);
  • if more than 5 days have passed since the start of menstrual bleeding, then the start of the course should be postponed until the next cycle;
  • with strict adherence to the dosage regimen, the contraceptive effect is observed in the period from 22 to 29 days of the cycle.

If you miss a pill, you may experience spotting or ovulation. This is explained by the minimal concentration of estrogen in Novinet. In this case, it is necessary to take additional contraceptive measures before starting a new cycle. With vomiting and diarrhea, the effectiveness of the contraceptive is reduced. If they go away within 12 hours, then you need to take another tablet. Then continue the standard scheme. If vomiting or diarrhea lasts longer, then it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception throughout the illness and for another week after.

Novinet after childbirth or abortion

If a woman is not breastfeeding, she can take a contraceptive from the first day of her first spontaneous menstruation. Before starting the course, you must consult a doctor. In most cases, additional contraceptive measures are not required. Use of contraception in different conditions:

  • if there was sexual intercourse after childbirth, then you need to start taking the pills during the next menstruation;
  • when the use of a contraceptive occurred later than 3 weeks after birth, additional protective measures must be used in the first week;
  • after spontaneous termination of pregnancy or induced abortion, the contraceptive should be taken immediately, without using other means of contraception.

Switching from other contraceptives

When using other combined oral contraceptives, it is important to make the switch correctly. The next drug is started after completing the course of previous drugs. You cannot take a break; you do not need to wait for the next menstruation. If you have previously used contraceptives containing only progestin, then the pills should be taken on the first day of the menstrual cycle. Additional protection with the help of barrier contraceptives, refusal of intimacy during the dangerous period is not required. Doctors do not recommend the calendar method either.

special instructions

The drug does not have a protective effect against AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases. After the postponed viral hepatitis it is necessary to wait until the indicators of the functional state of the liver return to normal. Only after this can you take a contraceptive. It is impossible to start the course earlier than six months after illness. When providing contraception, it is necessary to take into account that the contraceptive effect of pills is reduced if:

  • diarrhea or vomiting;
  • skipping a pill;
  • simultaneous use of drugs that reduce the effect of combined oral contraceptives.

The effectiveness becomes lower when a woman develops spotting, irregular and breakthrough discharge after several cycles of taking the medicine. Contraception in this case is ensured by using one course of not one, but two packs of medication at once until the last one runs out. If after the second cycle acyclic discharge persists or withdrawal bleeding has not begun, then resumption of use is possible only after excluding possible pregnancy.

During pregnancy

Pregnancy is an absolute contraindication to the use of this medication. Combined oral contraceptives can suppress lactation. In addition, some of the active components pass into breast milk. For this reason, during lactation such a drug is not the drug of choice. Taking a contraceptive is possible starting from the sixth month of breastfeeding.

Due to the use of Novinet before pregnancy, the risk of developing various fetal defects does not increase. If you unintentionally take a contraceptive early stages teratogenic or mutagenic effects are not observed. Taking Novinet also does not affect the sex of the fetus. It is worth noting that the potential risks associated with taking hormonal drugs significantly outweigh their benefits. If pregnancy has been established or is suspected, the hormonal drug should be discontinued.

Drug interactions

If you combine a contraceptive with drugs that induce liver enzymes, the effectiveness of pregnancy protection is reduced. These medications include:

  • Griseofulvin;
  • barbiturates;
  • Hydantoin;
  • Carbamazepine;
  • Rifampicin;
  • Primidone;
  • Oxcarbazepine;
  • Felbamate;
  • Topiramate.

These drugs increase the likelihood of bleeding. The maximum level of induction of the contraceptive is observed for 14-20 days, but can persist for a month after discontinuation of the drug. If there is a need to take Ampicillin or Tetracycline, then the use of additional contraceptive measures is required throughout the entire course and for another week after completion. In the case of Rifampicin, Novinet must be taken within 4 weeks after completion of treatment.

Because COCs reduce carbohydrate tolerance, the need for insulin or oral antidiabetic agents increases. The contraceptive should be used with caution with the following drugs:

  • bromocriptine;
  • beta-adrenergic receptor blockers;
  • tricyclic antidepressants;
  • hepatotoxic agents, including Dantrolene;
  • coumarin and indanedione anticoagulants.

Side effects of Novinet

If negative reactions occur after taking a contraceptive, the question of its further use is decided individually for each patient. Potential side effects include:

  • amenorrhea;
  • candidiasis;
  • nausea;
  • jaundice or itching associated with cholestasis;
  • soreness and enlargement of the mammary glands;
  • acyclic vaginal discharge;
  • chloasma;
  • ulcerative colitis;
  • skin rashes;
  • vomit;
  • changes in the state of mucus in the vagina;
  • depression;
  • migraine;
  • decreased libido;
  • hypersensitivity reactions;
  • headache;
  • erythema nodosum or exudative;
  • inflammatory processes in the vagina;
  • fluid retention in the body;
  • weight gain;
  • eye sensitivity to contact lenses.

There are a number of particularly severe side effects in which taking the contraceptive requires immediate withdrawal. The list of such negative reactions includes:

  • hypertension;
  • porphyria;
  • acute blockage of veins or arteries with blood clots;
  • otosclerosis, hearing loss;
  • myocardial infarction, stroke (extremely rare);
  • Sydenham's chorea;
  • exacerbation of Libman-Sachs disease.

Overdose

Nausea and vomiting indicate a contraceptive overdose. Possible enhancement of others side effects medicine. In girls, exceeding the dose is manifested by bloody discharge. If an overdose is detected in a timely manner, gastric lavage is necessary in the first hours of administration. There is no antidote, and treatment is symptomatic.

Contraindications

Before you start using this contraceptive, you must study the list of contraindications. It includes many diseases and special conditions of the body. Their list is as follows:

  • otosclerosis;
  • initial signs of thromboembolism;
  • smoking;
  • pregnancy, lactation;
  • migraine with neurological signs;
  • thrombosis;
  • increased sensitivity to the composition;
  • vaginal bleeding;
  • pancreatitis;
  • diabetes mellitus with vascular complications;
  • tendency to thrombosis of veins or arteries;
  • tumor lesions of the liver;
  • hormone-dependent tumors;
  • liver diseases;
  • age from 35 years.

Terms of sale and storage

The drug is available only with a doctor's prescription. For storage, you must choose a place with a temperature of 15-30 degrees and inaccessible to children.

Novinet's analogs

Hormonal tablets Novinet have several analogues with a similar principle of action or composition. Even under this condition, you should not replace one medication with another. To choose an analogue, it is better to consult a gynecologist. As an alternative, he may suggest the following drugs:

  1. Janine. The composition includes ethinyl estradiol. Its concentration in this drug is higher - 0.03 mg. The second active component is dienogest. It is a testosterone derivative that has antiandrogenic activity. Janine includes more hormones, so it is suitable for women with an excess of male hormones.
  2. Marvelon. The basis of the medicine is desogestrel, so the medicine also belongs to the hormonal category. The main indication for its use is also the prevention of unwanted pregnancy. When taking it, intermenstrual bleeding from the vagina is not excluded.
  3. Regulon. Includes the same active ingredients: ethinyl estradiol, desogestrel. Available in the form of film-coated tablets.
  4. Mercilon. The drug has estrogen-progestogen and contraceptive properties. For this reason, it is additionally used for premenstrual syndrome, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and dysmenorrhea.
  5. Tri-Mercy. Another product based on desogesterl and ethinyl estradiol. The effect of the drug is also to increase the secretion of cervical mucus and inhibit ovulation. The medicine has a large list of contraindications, so you need to familiarize yourself with it before use.

Pharmacological action Novinet

A monophasic hormonal contraceptive for oral administration containing a combination of estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and a progestin (desogestrel). Inhibits the pituitary secretion of gonadotropic hormones. The contraceptive effect is due to the effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian system.

Desogestrel is a synthetic gestagen that, when taken orally, inhibits the synthesis of LH and FSH in the pituitary gland and, by preventing follicle maturation, effectively blocks ovulation. It has an antiestrogenic, weak androgenic (anabolic) effect, and does not have an estrogenic effect.

Ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic analogue of the follicular hormone estradiol, which participates together with the corpus luteum hormone in the formation of the menstrual cycle. Prevents the maturation of an egg capable of fertilization.

The contraceptive effect is due, on the one hand, to a decrease in the susceptibility of the endometrium to the blastocyte, and on the other hand, to an increase in the viscosity of mucus in the cervix, which prevents the advancement of sperm.

The drug has a beneficial effect on lipid metabolism: it increases the HDL content in plasma without affecting the LDL content.

When taking the drug, the loss of menstrual blood is significantly reduced. Regular use of the drug normalizes the menstrual cycle, helps prevent the development of a number of gynecological diseases, including oncological ones.

It has a beneficial effect on the skin, significantly improves the condition of the skin with acne vulgaris.

Pharmacokinetics of the drug.

Desogestrel

Suction

Desogestrel is quickly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and is immediately metabolized in the liver and intestinal wall into 3-keto-desogestrel, which is a biologically active metabolite of desogestrel.

Cmax is reached after 1.5 hours and is 2 ng/ml. Bioavailability - 62-81%.

Distribution

3-keto-desogestrel binds to plasma proteins, mainly albumin and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG).

Vd is 5 l/kg. Css is established by the second half of the menstrual cycle, when the level of 3-keto-desogestrel increases 2-3 times.

Metabolism

The products of further metabolism of ketodesogestrel are pharmacologically inactive; some of them are converted by conjugation into polar metabolites, primarily sulfates and glucuronides.

Removal

T1/2 is 38 hours. Metabolites are excreted in urine and feces (in a ratio of 6:4).

Ethinyl estradiol

Suction

Ethinyl estradiol is quickly and completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Cmax is reached 1-2 hours after taking the drug and is 80 pg/ml. The bioavailability of the drug due to presystemic conjugation and the “first pass” effect through the liver is about 60%.

Distribution

Ethinyl estradiol is almost completely bound to plasma proteins, mainly albumin.

Vd is 5 l/kg. Css is established by the 3-4th day of administration, while the level of ethinyl estradiol in the serum is 30-40% higher than after a single dose of the drug.

Metabolism

Presystemic conjugation of ethinyl estradiol is significant. Ethinyl estradiol and its metabolites in the form of sulfates and glucuronides are excreted into bile and enter the enterohepatic circulation. Clearance from blood plasma is about 5 ml/min/kg body weight.

Removal

T1/2 of ethinyl estradiol averages about 26 hours. About 40% is excreted in the urine and about 60% in feces.

Indications for use:

Oral contraception.

Dosage and method of administration of the drug.

The tablets are taken orally, at the same time of day, without chewing and with a small amount of liquid.

The drug is prescribed 1 tablet/day (if possible at the same time of day), starting from the 1st day of the menstrual cycle for 21 days. This is followed by a 7-day break, during which menstrual-like bleeding occurs. On the eighth day, resume taking tablets from the next package (even if the bleeding has not stopped yet). If the rules of administration are followed, the contraceptive effect is maintained during the 7-day break.

If the first tablet is taken on day 1 of the menstrual cycle, then additional methods of contraception are not required. You can start taking pills from the 2-5th day of menstruation, but in this case, in the first cycle, you must use additional methods of contraception in the first 7 days of taking the pills.

If more than 5 days have passed since the start of menstruation, you should delay starting the drug until your next menstruation.

After childbirth, non-breastfeeding women can be prescribed the drug after 21 days. In this case, there is no need to use other methods of contraception. If the drug is prescribed later than 21 days after birth, then additional methods of contraception must be used in the first 7 days of administration. If in the postpartum period sexual intercourse preceded oral contraception, then taking the pills should wait until the first menstruation appears. For women who continue breastfeeding, the use of combined oral contraceptives is not recommended, as taking the drug may reduce milk production.

When switching to Novinet after taking another estrogen-progestin hormonal contraceptive (calculated for 21 or 28 days of use), the first Novinet tablet should be taken the next day after completing the course of the previous drug. There is no need to use additional methods of contraception.

When switching to Novinet after taking a hormonal contraceptive containing only gestagen, the first Novinet tablet should be taken on the first day of the menstrual cycle; there is no need to use additional methods of contraception. If menstruation does not occur while taking the previous drug, you can start taking Novinet on any day of the cycle, but in this case, additional methods of contraception must be used in the first 7 days of use.

As additional methods of contraception, it is recommended to use a cervical cap with spermicidal gel, a condom, or abstain from sexual intercourse. The use of the calendar method as an additional method of contraception is less reliable.

If it is necessary to delay menstruation, taking the pills should be continued without a 7-day break. In this case, intermenstrual bleeding may appear, but this does not reduce the contraceptive effect of the drug. Regular use of Novinet can be resumed after the usual 7-day break.

If you miss a dose of the drug, if no more than 12 hours have passed since the last dose, then you need to take the missed tablet and then continue taking it at the usual time. If more than 12 hours have passed since the last pill was taken, then the reliability of contraception in this cycle is not guaranteed and the use of additional methods of contraception is recommended.

If you miss 1 tab. in the first or second week of the cycle you need to take 2 tablets. the next day and then continue regular use using additional methods of contraception until the end of the cycle. If you miss 1 tab. in the third week of the cycle, in addition to the listed measures, a 7-day break is excluded.

Due to the intake of a smaller dose of estrogen into the body due to missing a pill(s), the likelihood of ovulation and/or spotting increases, so in such cases the use of additional methods of contraception is recommended.

If vomiting or diarrhea occurs after taking the drug, then absorption of the drug may be inadequate. If the symptoms stop within 12 hours, then you need to take 1 additional tablet from another package. After this, you should continue taking the tablets as usual. If symptoms continue for more than 12 hours, then it is necessary to use additional methods of contraception in the next 7 days.

On the metabolic side: fluid retention in the body, changes in body weight, decreased tolerance to carbohydrates.

From the laboratory parameters: the estrogenic component of Novinet tablets can change some indicators of the function of the liver, kidneys, adrenal glands, thyroid gland, the level of blood coagulation factors and fibrinolysis, lipoproteins and transport proteins.

Contraindications to the drug:

Pregnancy or suspicion of it;

Arterial hypertension is severe or moderate;

Familial forms of hyperlipidemia;

Thromboembolism (including a history) or predisposition to it (myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular diseases (ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke), severe form of atherosclerosis);

IHD, decompensated heart defects, myocarditis;

Diabetic angiopathy (including retinopathy);

Severe liver diseases (including a history), cholestatic jaundice, hepatitis (before normalization of laboratory parameters and in the first 6 months after their normalization), jaundice during pregnancy or while taking corticosteroids, Dubin-Johnson syndrome, Rotor syndrome, cholelithiasis disease, liver tumor, porphyria;

Estrogen-dependent tumors or suspicion of them, breast and endometrial cancer, endometrial hyperplasia, endometriosis, breast fibroadenoma;

Genital bleeding of unknown etiology;

Systemic lupus erythematosus (including history);

Genital herpes, pregnancy herpes;

Severe skin itching;

Otosclerosis (aggravated during a previous pregnancy or while taking corticosteroids);

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

With caution and only after a thorough assessment of the benefits and risks of use, the drug should be prescribed for diseases of the hemostatic system, heart failure (including a history), renal failure (including a history), epilepsy, migraine, and at risk of developing estrogen-dependent tumor, diabetes mellitus, sickle cell anemia (during infections or hypoxic conditions, taking an estrogen-containing drug can provoke thromboembolism), with severe depression (including a history).

Use during pregnancy and lactation.

Novinet is contraindicated for use during pregnancy. Taking Novinet should be stopped 3 months before the planned pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs, the drug should be discontinued.

Epidemiological studies have shown that among children, born by women who took hormonal contraceptives before pregnancy, the incidence of malformations does not increase. In cases of taking the drug in the early stages of pregnancy, no teratogenic effect was detected.

The use of Novinet is contraindicated during lactation ( breastfeeding), because the drug reduces the secretion of breast milk and changes its composition. Besides, active substances excreted in small quantities in breast milk.

Special instructions for the use of Novinet.

Before starting to use the drug, it is necessary to conduct a general medical examination (detailed family and personal history, blood pressure measurement, laboratory tests) and gynecological examination (including examination of the mammary glands, pelvic organs, cytological analysis of a cervical smear). A similar study during the period of taking the drug is carried out regularly, every 6 months.

The effectiveness of the drug Novinet is reduced if tablets are missed, with vomiting and diarrhea, as well as when taken simultaneously with other drugs.

The effectiveness of Novinet may decrease if intermenstrual bleeding appears after several months of its use. If menstrual-like bleeding does not appear during the break, taking the pills can be continued only after pregnancy has been ruled out.

The risk of arterial or venous thromboembolic diseases increases with age, with smoking, with a family history of thromboembolic diseases, with obesity (body mass index above 30 kg/m2), with dyslipoproteinemia, with arterial hypertension, with heart valve defects, with atrial fibrillation , with diabetes mellitus, with prolonged immobilization.

If depression is associated with impaired tryptophan metabolism, then vitamin B6 can be used to correct it.

In the presence of resistance to activated protein C, hyperchromocysteinemia, deficiency of proteins C, S, deficiency of antithrombin III, the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies (anticardiolipins, lupus anticoagulants), the risk of developing thromboembolic diseases increases. Targeted treatment of the above conditions reduces the risk of blood clots.

Pregnancy poses a greater risk of blood clots than taking hormonal contraceptives.

Taking Novinet should be stopped immediately in the following cases:

New onset of severe headache or worsening of regular migraines;

Acute deterioration of visual acuity;

Suspicion of myocardial infarction or thrombosis;

A sharp increase in blood pressure;

The appearance of jaundice or hepatitis without jaundice, intense generalized itching;

The occurrence of epilepsy or increased frequency of epileptic seizures;

4 weeks before the planned surgical intervention and in case of prolonged immobilization (taking Novinet can be resumed after 2 weeks from the moment of remobilization);

Development of pregnancy.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and operate machinery

No studies have been conducted to study the effect of Novinet on the abilities necessary to drive a car and operate machinery.

Drug overdose:

Symptoms: metrorrhagia. Taking the drug in high doses was not accompanied by the appearance of severe symptoms.

Treatment: in the first 2-3 hours after taking the drug in a high dose, gastric lavage is recommended. There is no specific antidote, treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction of Novinet with other drugs.

At simultaneous use Novineta with antispasmodics, phenobarbital derivatives, antibiotics (tetracycline, ampicillin, rifampicin, isoniazid, neomycin, penicillin, chloramphenicol), carbamazepine, phenylbutazone, analgesics, anxiolytics, activated carbon, sulfonamides, nitrofurans, antimigraine drugs, griseofulvin, laxatives and some medicinal plants(for example, St. John's wort) it is possible to change the nature of menstruation and reduce the contraceptive effect of Novinet.

Novinet, when used simultaneously, reduces the effectiveness of oral anticoagulants, anxiolytics (diazepam), tricyclic antidepressants, guanethidine, theophylline, caffeine, vitamins, clofibrate, glucocorticosteroids, paracetamol.

When Novinet is used simultaneously with oral hypoglycemic drugs or insulin, the control of carbohydrate metabolism may be impaired, because Novinet may reduce carbohydrate tolerance and increase the need for insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents, which may require dose adjustment.
